The game ST:BOTF is listed as not compatible with WinXP on the main site.
Star Trek: Armada II is a real time strategy where players can control Klingon, Federation, and Borg forces for thirty missions. Based on the original Star Trek: Armada, improvements have been made to add new levels of complexity. New views, empires, and even trading centers, all help change the dimension of the game and, while most of these. The ONLY way I got Armada II to run on Windows 7 is using the Activision folder from a Windows XP PC. Copy the entire Activision folder from the Windows XP PC's Programs folder to the Program Files (x86) folder in Windows 7. Open the folder, then open the Armada II folder and find the executable.

Prerequirements are official patch 1.02 has to be installed first.
The patch works on all three of my systems (Intell and AMD boards), and others have also reported success.
